Another Hat
After I made this hat I got asked to make another one. I couldn’t remember what size hook I used with the original hat but I opted to use a 6.5mm one this time and it turned out fine.

Minecraft Paper Craft
If you haven’t heard of Minecraft where have you been? It is a fabbity fab game that you all should be playing. Anyhow the skins of Minecraft characters are square and this opens it up to be perfect for making paper craft characters out of well umm… paper.
So some clever people have made a automatic generator here for absolutely anyone’s skin, so far I’ve only done the...

Secret Santa
Last Christmas a forum I am a member of had a Secret Santa. If you don’t know what Secret Santa is I will explain, when their are a group of people rather than everyone buying each other presents, each person picks a name out of a hat and just buys one present for that person. Basically each person buys one present and gets given one present.
I gave my Secret Santa a Greenday CD, Lego...

Bunny and a Hat
When my cousins baby was born I made some things for the baby’s big sister. I crochet her a amigurumi bunny and a winter hat.
The bunny was fairly easy to make, though I still hate sewing the bits together. It is available for free.
The hat looks complicated to make and it would be for beginners it took a while for the pattern to “click” but once i understood it it was easy...

Hat and Booties
I also made a hat and booties for my cousins new arrival.
The hat was really easy to make. It is called Seamless Crocheted Baby Hat and is available for free. The booties like all booties I’ve ever tried to make were hard to make, however I can not find the pattern for these as I made them nearly a year ago.

New Born Cardigan
I made this really easy cardigan for the baby too, she was so big when she came there was no way it was going to fit.
I also found this patter on Ravelry but it is available for anyone for free Bella Bambina Knits.

New Babby
In October last year my cousins baby was born. I made her some things, the wool isn’t the nicest but that is because when I bought it we didn’t know if she would be a girl or boy.
This pattern is Versatile Baby Sweater by Marie Coll it is available free from Ravelry. This was a nice pattern to make, like most patterns I use it was written in American terms. On the pattern row 2 of...

Baby Shower For Angel
I forgot to take pictures but i made a hat, cardigan and booties for a baby shower for a baby who was born in 2010.
I made a Ruffled Hat availble free from here. This pattern was very easy to make.
The cardigan I made was called Sweater with Ruffled Bottom available free from Bella Bambina Knits. This was a really simple pattern and easy to understand.
These were the first items of...

Fairy Tale ABC Quilt Square
Many of us on the Money Saving Expert website clubbed together to make a quilt for charity last year and here are some of my progress pictures. I forgot to take a picture of the finished item.
I am sad to find out in the end the squares apparently all went missing in the post.

Photos and patterns are on their way...
So I never got around to updating this place and sometimes forgot to take photos of stuff but I’m now making an attempt to add all the stuff I’ve remembered to take photos of over the past year and a bit.
I will be uploading photos as text posts from now on to make them easier to hyper-link.

More Amigurumi's
Three amigurumi creation’s I made in the past couple of months, all different Easter Bunnies. I only have one picture as I only just remembered I hadn’t photographed them before giving them to my cousin.
(Have to say this is the first pic I’ve uploaded with my new phone and I am rather impressed with the quality.)
Well you might remember the first bunny from a post I...

80th Birthday Card
I also made my Nana a card for her birthday.
I used the same design with the parchment paper as my Mam’s Mothers’ Day card, mounted it on card then used 3d foam to stick it to the card. I also added a butterfly sticker, the numbers 80 and happy birthday peel offs. I used gold ink to stamp the word Nana on card then cut this out and attatched it to the card with 3d foam pads....

Another Elephant
Well as I think I allready mentioned my Nana collects elephants, so with her other birthday presents I made this (I only made one the pictures are just of different angles):
I found this pattern quite difficult to follow. The pattern is available in a pdf here.
I would not recommend this pattern for beginners considering how fiddly it was. I can not see me making this again as the trunk does...

Lowry Update
I first posted the Lowry Needle point early in April. I have been slowly getting on with it, but in an attempt to spur me on I have set my self the challenge of finishing it, minus the back-stitching by the end of May.
These picture were taken on the 28th of may and shows I still have some red to stitch.
I hate working with the wool and have also ran out of black before finishing all the...
I Haven't Forgotten About This Place
Just a quick post to say, sorry I haven’t posted for ages- between getting a new phone and getting used to the camera on it and losing my camera usb cable I’ve had loads of picture piling but not got them posted.
I also wanted to say I wont be using the slide show feature much as when I put pictures up like that I can’t link to them on forums, where as when the picture is in a...

Bunny Badge
I found this cute little easy pattern for a bunny. Stick a saftey pin to it for a badge, or some magnetic tape to it fora fridge magnet or give it a long tail with some chain stitch to make a bookmark.
Sorry the picture is a bit blurry I was still trying to fix the camera shake when I took this. I still have another one of these to make for my cousin, so hopefully I’ll get a better...

Tiny Teddy
So despite this teddy being absolutely tiny it was blooming difficult as its so fiddly. Nothing is sown on apart from the face, its all crocheted together. As you will see in the next post his tail and ears are even crochet in with the rest of body/head.
The pattern can be found at http://strngbn.tripod.com/teddye.html , but I wouldn’t recommend it I found it difficult to read as well...

LS Lowry Under The Sofa
So I remembered I started a needle point last year then stopped to make Christmas cards and presents, and I just never went back to it. I’ve now found the needle point under the settee and the threads in computer/ dining area of the house, I’m just hoping I’ve found all I need.
So finishing it off will be my next task. From what I remember it was really difficult as the wool...

Bad News/ Good News
So I’ve been a bit rubbish at updating lately - I have about 7 posts to type up. Be it good or bad news for you I’m going to attempt to type up posts more often rather than have a load of images waiting for me to write about them.
Also on the good news front, I seem to be-able to take pictures with my new camera (Polaroid i532) with out them going all blurry- thankfully a bit of...

Back Stitching Is Boring
I finished the main part of the elephant i started in March ages ago but I’m taking ages to back stitch it. Here’s the update of where I’m up to so far.
I have a few more posts to come of the stuff I made for someone I know who had a fair to raise money for MeningitisUK. When i get a chance I’ll post about them to get the blog up to date with the things I’m making...

Pigs Might Fly
I made my mam a flying pig for mother’s day! I used a pattern posted on Crafster by mmmfruit for the pig then the wings from a pattern from a bumble bee which can be found here on Fave Crafts.
(Yet again apologies for the blur, this new camera has terrible shake that I can’t seem to get rid of)
I have re-written mmmfruit’s pattern here (hopefully she won’t mind- but if...

More Amigurumi!
So what a surprise i’ve done even more crocheting animals, its so addictive. This time I made a bunny rabbit. The original pattern is supposed to be of a bunny egg cosy, available free from lionbrand. However I modified the pattern a bit and stuffed it to make a egg shaped bunny.
As I managed to take a few pictures of this creation its picture is in the next post.
Here is the original...

Deformed Chicken
Well after making a few small amigrumis i decided to try something bigger, and nice and festive for Easter, a chicken. Ana’s blog has the pattern for daddy chick and baby chick, i decided to make daddy. Well here’s my creation….
I think I got a bit to ambitious. As you can see some how I managed to make the head massive compared to the body :S . As I sewed the beak, crest...

Mothering Sunday
Today is Mothers Day Mother’s Day Mothers’ Day Mothering Sunday in the UK so I have made both my Mum and my Nana cards.
(Apologies for the bluryness- the second picture was taken with my new camera and I cant seem to stop the camera shake)
My mums card is made with parchment paper, I had a template for a rose for use with the Fiskars Shape Boss, so I simply followed the...

A Cross Stitch For My Nana
I started a cross stitch last week for my nana, whilst doing amigurumi inbetween. She collects elephants, so its of an Elliot elephant, designed by Anchor. This is the second I have done for her, was going to give her this for mothers day, but then i was in a shop selling Elliot elphants with Nana written on- and its quite hard finding anything with nana written on, so i bought that instead.
Any...

Amigurumi Jellyfish
After the last few video tutorials i was ready to try out a written patten, and I decided to try out this cute little jelly fish on Anna Paula’s blog (she has some great designs and books out, I must see if my library can get them).
I think its a great little animal for how simple it was to make.

Amigurumi Cherries
So after the success of my stuffed mouse and my surprise at how quickly it all came together I decided to make something else.
Cherries!
The pull string on my handbag when missing so i decided to make something I could use as a zip pull.
I followed WireMy Soul’s You Tube video instructions on how to make a pair of cherries.
I then needed a way to attach them to the bag, so used a old...

Crochet Mouse Pin Cushion
So as mentioned in my first post I have started to learn crochet and have become interested in amigurumi.
My first make was a mouse, which i have used as a pin cushion since making it. I followed tjw1963’s “The Art Of Crochet” video instructions.
The one mistake i made with this mouse, that I only realised later was I actually made it inside out, the wrong side of the mouse...

Where have I gone?
Anyone looking here probably thinks, what was the point in someone setting up this blog then buggering off, where have they gone? I’m still here but busily sewing a Beaver. Now stop that dirty mind, i’m seawing an award for the Beaver Scouts, we have a AGM soon and with our old award full with names i’m trying to make 2 new awards for our group. I don’t know if were...

Beginners Crocheting
So I started learning to crochet before Christmas, and promptly gave up when most instructions were for right handed people, I couldn’t control the tension and I needed to make Christmas cards and my beaded decorations.
Then over the holidays adverts for a magazine called The Art Of Crochet appeared all over UK TV. This inspired me to try again, off I popped to Hobby Craft expecting them...
